Whether you want a quick fix after a long day, or you’re a student a uni and simply cba to cook something fancy, here’s my top things to cook:
- PASTA (so cliche) – just boil some water, add pasta, leave for 10 mins, drain the water out, add a pot of sauce, heat, and you’re good to go. If you want to be a bit more adventurous, maybe chop some onion or garlic and add it to the sauce, and stick some garlic bread in the oven for 15 mins.
- OMELETTE – depending how much you like to eat depends on how many eggs you use. I use about 5 eggs, whisk them and then chop some ham or chicken, or any other food you have lying around that needs using, add it to the eggs. Season how you like, I generally add a bit of salt and pepper. Now cook, preferably on a non-stick pan.
- SPAG BOL – boil water, add spaghetti, cook mince in a different pan, add a sauce with the mince, and serve together. This is only quick if you’ve already defrosted the mince.
- Anything pre-cooked from the freezer – burgers, pizza, sausages etc. can all be cooked from frozen and don’t take long to cook.
You can also cheat by using microwave meals when you don’t have to prepare anything, except your belly.
